A quanto pare, il supporto alla crittografia sta approdando nativamente su Ext4: al link possiamo trovare il documento preliminare che si occupa di descrivere le specifiche tecniche.
EXT4 encryption is not currently resilient in the face of an adversary who is able to manipulate the offline block device content prior to the authorized user later performing EXT4 file system I/O on said content. In that scenario the user can have no expectations regarding either data integrity or confidentiality.
We are not currently planning on attempting any mitigations against timing attacks. We recognize that these are important to address, but mitigations will require substantial work in the Linux kernel Crypto API. Addressing timing attacks against users of the Crypto API is out of scope for this effort

È una lettura stimolante e che riporta anche fonti imprescindibili. Date uno sguardo, ci sono dei punti importanti per quanto riguarda la UX dei dispositivi mobili, che ora come ora eccezion fatta per i vari assistenti vocali (Google Now, Siri, Cortana), è decisamente migliorabile.

Purtroppo non sto postando molto in questo periodo, anzi, complice la certificazione come sviluppatore MongoDB che mi succhia sin troppo tempo. Nonostante questo però sfogliando il mio bashrc ho ritrovato un commento carino con allegato un comando che appunto qui, nel caso in cui qualcuno volesse calibrare il proprio monitor utilizzando xgamma.

Xgamma è un tool che ho trovato molto utile qualche annetto fa. In maniera avulsa da questo, se volete sfogliare i miei dotfiles, li trovate su GitHub.
GitHub Pages e Jekyll hanno un’immensa dipendenza da Git che a volte può risultare scomoda, se non altro perché siamo in mobilità e non abbiamo un client Git sul tablet, o magari semplicemente siamo un computer non nostro, vogliamo scrivere un post al volo e non possiamo perché dovremmo clonare il progetto e quant’altro. Prose.io colma questo divario in maniera più che sufficiente, al netto di qualche incomprensione con i browser su dispositivi mobili.
Così, anche con Jekyll, il blogging torna a portata di sessione privata di Firefox, ovunque.
Internet, computer e smart cosi non significano solo evoluzione tecnologica, ma anche evoluzione del linguaggio: con l’avvento di tutto quello che c’è stato dopo UTF8 infatti, abbiamo cominciato a usare sempre di più le emoji, nate in Giappone “perché i giapponesi stanno sempre avanti”, come ricorda sempre il mio amico Andrea Raimondi.
Matt Haber, sul New York Times, ne parla in questi termini:
A specter is haunting our communications: the specter of emoji. Right now, it’s likely that someone you know is texting a thumbs-up image to confirm a meeting, or maybe sending off a friendly ghost emoji to say “boo” to a friend.

È un articolo molto interessante: vi consiglio di leggerlo, anche e persino trattandosi di questioni di lana caprina. Dopo tutto, Internet è costruita per farci comunicare. L’altro motivo per cui questo scritto ha suscitato la mia attenzione, è che ho visto di sfuggita che pur parlando di quello che a tutti gli effetti è un tema riguardante la tecnologia (circa), è stato categorizzato come di costume e società.
P.S.: Parlo delle emoji al femminile, perché per me sono prima di tutto “faccine” :-D
