Scared humans and violence
I opened my feeds (like, actual RSS feeds in an actual RSS reader) this morning. It has been a while since I went through them, and a pile of stuff cumulated.
I started reading top-to-bottom and in my list of entries, that is really crafted around the software engineering topic, I read at least five posts about shootings and safety in the US, and people reassuring they are ok, some of them maybe relocating. Stories of violence. Stories of scared humans.
Some examples:
- “I want you to understand Chicago” by Kyle Kingsbury
- “Email from Family in Minnesota” by Brent Simmons
- “Mid-life transitions” by Christian Hergert
The world (especially US) is increasingly becoming a weird place.1

I wish I would have been able to write my first english post on this blog on a more pleasant note. This just came out of a rant post on Bluesky that turned out to be too long for the platform. ↩
